ZR bumper on a 200

Right I not what your all about to say.... you need the bonnet, wings, lights etc :p

But no, I've managed to get a zr bumper for free and though what the hell I'll chop it to bits and see how far off it is to fitting... Well after butchering the light surrounds and grill mainly I've found out it's not that far off. The bumper is the same width as the original bumper which suprised me as it's common knowledge the bib has to be shortened to fit the 200 bumper.

Below \/ is my effort after a few hours of butchery but I'm not sure what to do next... I could...

1. Try and fibre glass and smooth round the lights
2. Cut the light surrounds out of the 200 bumper and smooth them in
3. Get 25/ZR lights and mod them to fit

I can't decide, need some opinions :dddc:

Cheers Pete

Also if anyone (shuntis :dddc: ) could do any of the following in photoshop it'd be a massive help as it's what I'm planning

1. Fill in the mising holes in the bumper (around lights and grill)
2. Lower, planning on going down another 35mm
3. Colour code door handles

Would be a massive help
Looking good mate. This aint what i did, but might give you a better idea of how it looks finished. :)
petey...been having a think about this...

If you catch me on MSN I will try to explain! :dddc:
i like the look of that always wondered if it could be done well done there for haveing the guts for cuting one up
How hard was it to get the bits you chopped off right? Shouldn't be too hard to smooth the light surrounds in. Does everything else fit OK.
Looks worthwhile if you don't need to mess about with wings and panels.
Tad your a star mate  thats a awesome shop, realy awesome imo

The bits to cut weren't that dificult to cut, just had to have some guts to try it, Took an hour or 2 of fiddling

So far 2 of the mounts of the top 4 fit (outside 2) the bolt behind the number plate will fit ones i've drilled the hole, the bolts under the wings should fit once holes are drilled and the ones underneath will hopefuly go with some modding.

Also I can't help thinking the car would look good with a sunstrip, chav :p

Right had some fresh ideas :=p:

And need some more help from the photoshop gurus :D

Wanting, streetwise arches, colour coded
colour coded fog surrounds
lights in the vacant indicator holes
And finaly the door handles back, colour coded but not smoothed

:rocker: Reckon it'll look awesome, also I'm taking pics along the way to help others, hopefuly it'll open a few doors for people :minxy:

For the streetwise arches this is the best pic I could find

Hopefuly that'll do :)

cheers Pete

looking good mate. Well done for having the guts to cut that bumper up!
y not jst get the Arch Extensions? think this is the part number VUB002660

Nice idea but i reckon they wud need to be blending in which means a respray and then u wud need a different ofset on the wheels to make them sit rite otherwise they wud be too far in.

Keep up the work.

I was just wondering the other day what a Rover 200 front would look like with the ZR bumper on - and I think it looks awesome! I always liked the front lights on the 200, and they really suit the bumper. Definitely go this route, don't even think about changing for Rover 25 lights, that photoshop looks ace!

Chris
Looks ace mate!
I may be interested to see how it goes about.
