Hey, no major problems as such. The most important thing to look out for is the usual head gasget failure. Check the coolant level it should be nicely topped up and an orangy colour with no sludge in it. Also check that the oil looks fine & again sludge free.
I would look under the car for any fresh stains caused by fluid leaks. Also front tyres can wear quickly (depending on driving style). Listen out for any strange noises from the central locking as the door actuators have a habit of playing up.

Other than that just make sure it drives nice and straight there arn't any major problems with the ZR's.

Hope this helps :)

You're welcome mate :)

The 105 is no worse than any of the other K-series engines for HGF. The best you can do is look after it (I.E keep fluid levels correct, adhere too the servicing intervals and don't rev it hard until the engine is at normal operating temp). If you do all of the above then you should HOPEFULY be ok :)

As for the suspension I personaly am not aware of any common faults.

Happy hunting :D

well, ive gone and bought a 54 reg zr105 in trophy yellow. The facelifted version, and i think it looks superb for a wee car.
She loves it too, which means no more nagging about her ford ka anymore.
Only thing I have noted is slight missmatch in paint colour at the nearside of the rear bumper (looks like a respray) but it nothing damaged. ?
The extreme spoiler rattles a bit and looks like it needs a tighten or re-alignment. and boot shut lines could do with improving...sits slighty to the right.
And the most annoying thing is a squeeky rattle that comes from the dash evry now and then..( but i dont need to drive it so its not that major :bgrin: )

Anyway, if anyone has adjusted the spoiler or tailgate shut lines could you please give me some pointers.

Anyway, thats me done my bit to attract members to the MG world...

cheers

Was thinking the same mate....but there is no other evidence or damage that would point to a ding. (the spray is a slightly different shade but the bumper looks and feels as if nothing had ever happened)

Dunno whats happened....but anyway I have the Rave cd so I will re-align it at the weekend as it looks striaght forward enough..

Is there anything that can be done with the squeeking dash ?

cheers guys
