X Power vs Blueflame Backboxes

1250 Views 12 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  tebster
Hi Peeps,

I am going to purchase a new back box and have narrowed my choice down to these two, the X Power & the Blue flame.

Am finding really difficult to decide which one to buy, and would like to hear your opinions (good or bad).

Cheers

I love the look of the x power twin pipe but i've heard they can be very loud at motor way speeds.
I have to say I plumped for the Blueflame and I have never looked back. The sound is PERFECT for my tatses - not too loud when idling, just a perfect burble, and a LOVELY roar when sinking it - and it fills the space under the heatshield perfectly :D

check out pics of it on my car here:

The oval xpower back box's are loud at motorway speeds, but the twin is just louder than the standard 160 tail pipe.

Hmm, I just bought a Magnex 6x4 Oval, hope its not too loud cause if it is ill be selling her on again!
LOVE the twin Xpower ones on my 160 really nice rally-ish sound very nice.
The Blueflame looks very nice on your car thumpjunkie, what does it sound like though at motorway speeds ? dont want anything that will my brains out though as I do a lot of miles on there, also did you find any performance gains ??

Cheers

Thanks buddy glad you like :)

To me it's the perfect exhaust, it sounds more inductiony than exhausty (!), especially at high revs, and unless your foot is on the floor you can't actually hear it very well from inside the car. It really does turn heads because it makes the car not only unique sounding, but also much more like the standard sound of some true sports cars. Being truthful it ain't much louder than the standard exhaust unless you are flooring it so it is perfect for cruizing at 70... in fact the faster you go the less of a low rumble you hear!

Performance-wise, well I only have a 105, but there's definitely another 3-4bhp there, particularly noticeable from about 4000 revs upwards.
Thanks for that reply mate, you have now swung it for me and will be going for the BlueFlame, its quite a bit cheaper than the X power too !

Good choice buddy, you won't be disappointed :bgrin2:

Oh, and I also forgot to mention, the guys from BlueFlame are tremendous, I had mine delivered the day after I paid for it, AND they phoned to make sure it reached me OK and I was happy with it! Quality service :D

Keep us up to date with some pics when it's finished mate...
Well it arrived today, looks huge off the car though....lol, I will be fitting it this weekend weather permitting and will post some pics a.s.a.p.
