Sorry to see that :( if you take it to insurance, almost definitely a new car. You may be able to repair it for a few hundred yourself if there's no chassis damage but there probably will be some, looking at that wheelarch.

Ive just been up to try and move it (seeing as its on my mates drive) apart from the door that wont open for shizzle most of that mess backs onto the open space underneath the wheel arch but as Sam said about chassis damage, i hope it hasn't oh and Money...nah ive not declared the rear lights lol soon peel it off, its only fly-eyes, untill the insurance company gets back to me NO PARTS ARE FOR SALE :p more pics incoming

The sill still seems straight looking at the pics, if its just the rear quarter panel then a bodyshop could fix it and the arch as well.

Then again knowing insurance companies they'll write it off anyway as its an old car.

I've seen rally cars worse then that and repaired.

sorry to see that, similar thing happened to me 2 weeks ago, you should be looking at over 1k repair, maybe 400-500 for parts if you're lucky. I'm actually paying more because I decided to get a new general paint job to fix all scratches.

however I still miss grille so if it's a write off and you're willing to sell it, I'll claim it :D

LOL when i bought it, the grill supplied wasnt as expectedit was just 2 mesh plates, i had to "bodge" a way of connecting it on, seems the car already had an aftermarket replacement bumper with no means of connecting the grille, so the grill is infact part of the entire front bumper

It'll be a write off for the simple fact insurance companies cant "repair" damaged panels any more as it has to be "as it was before accident" so that'll need new door and new rear quater welding in which will cost mega bucks in labour.

Insurance company called me back to arrange a courtesy car etc etc, they are sending the engineer fella to have a peek, but she did say its unlikely they will repair it, so buh bye to my red zed, never had any issues with it apart from a leaky sunroof either -.-. How much does it usually cost to buy it back then? may aswell strip it and flog the parts instead of letting someone else do it :(

Dont get your hopes up at all, ive not heard of one MGR car not wrote of by insurance companies, but dont worry about not being able to sell your stuff none of it would be around for long, especially with me wanting a long list ;)

Eek! That sucks noodles!

At least if you do end up breaking and selling it, you can get some decent money out of it and keep some other Rover/MGs on the road :broon:
Thats what i shall try to do, the assessor is going to try and take a look tomorrow, in the meantime theyve slapped a fugly pug on my doorstep, i could fit more in the bloody boot on my zed than i can in the damn courtesy car, someone pass me some t-cut and a hammer lol.
