Right, my computer termonolgy if diabolical, so be warned

I have a desktop that is connected to the international network or interweb, it has a wireless card in it. I also have a laptop with a pcmcia wireless card and this is connected to the interweb via wireless connection to desktop.

And the question is how do i transfer files from one machine to the other, there is nothing in 'my network places' , i've tried adding a network but nothing

oh yes they talk using ad hoc, infrastructure makes no difference

You need to set up 'shared folders' and put the files in them, making sure that the folders are set up to allow file sharing....that should work....don't ask me how to do it though, it's been ages since I last did it and I can't remember! :slap:
