why do people think F/TF can break the laws of physics!!!

There seems to be alot of people out there that have cars that can take anything, I'm sure we will soon have tales of how someone took a Nissan GT-R from the lights and then beat a 911 GT3 around the track.

Why do people say these things , they must know it's down to the driver most of the time. Our cars are great and you can't get more bangs for the buck really, so why do people need to make silly claims????

I think you're wrong there Colin - only yesterday my TF was giving a guy with a GT-R a hard time from the lights and yes he was really trying , he went for it in first so I had to drop the clutch with a few revs on to make sure he didnt get a break away . By the time I was in second he'd already skip changed up to third and was really putting some effort in but was no match for the TF -
I just pulled round him with no problem and watched as he dissappeared in the mirror - still pedalling flat out.................;)

PS Might have been a GT Zaskar but suspect similar performance ? :getcoat:

With a certain exhaust anything is possible Colin... :broon:

Silly claims... get real!

If you look down into the driver's footwell just to the left of your clutch pedal, there's a cloaked ( invisible ) switch which was an opitional extra. Activating that deploys the warp factor drive and away you go ... through time and space.

Maybe your car is a poverty spec model without that useful facility ... there again, a turbocharger helps too and can boost that performance even moreso.

There again, mine's faster than your'n.... on paper... ;)

Surely it completely depends what kind of paper?

If you are driving on some nice gritty sand paper you may get decent traction but if it was on the shiny side of some brown paper, or even worse imagine driving on that old glossy loo paper, your wheels would be spinning and slipping all over the place.

Overall I think being faster on the road is preferable.

I have taken a lateral approach, I removed my speedo dial and replaced it with a continental one which only shows KPH not MPH - my 0 to 60 time is fantastic now!

You mean an MGF \ TF isnt the fastest and best road holding car ever made ? SHOCKER ! . . . damn I was ready to go and buy another after reading the threads on just how fast and superior in road holding they are.

well after tommrrow when the TF is remaped, I will be able to break the laws of physics, in fact I'm going to go so fast that I will go back in time and save Rover and allow the Mg to become a car that can beat all comers!!!

Like i said... i've had a few cars in the corner i love and know... but they got me on the straight... it really does depend on balls and knowing your car and what it's capable of... I have also beaten quite a few cars off lights in my Scoob I had and my ST220 but... most of them were chavs trying it on because i was a girl and any other i have beaten probably weren't trying... but also i know that paper figures don't necessarily mean it can do that on the roads... unless you're the stig :D

I don't want to break the laws of physics, just break the laws of fun. You know.....Having some.

It's not the winning, it's the trying. But trying and winning is even better.

Jesus, some of you are boring old farts. :)

This is still a car forum isn't it. :dunno:

Now, where's that Ferrari I spotted?

the audi tt forum was a mare for this!

the VAG 2v 1.8Turbo engine has been proven consistantly to be cabable of +1000bhp

where as numerous attempts to take the R35s v6 past 850bhp have had rods going out the engine casing time and again, even the top American tuners can't get much past 900 without the casting failing

add to that the Audi TT (especially the new one) being lighter than the R35 AND the fact that carbon panels for the TT are cheap as chips then i have absolutly no trouble believing that Audi TTs regularly anyalate R35s on the 1/4 mile

it's how you look at it... throw brand new GTR money at a second hand TT and the TT will be MUCH quicker

in a stirght line at least

but that said a 3.5 grand 2JZ engined Supra with 10 grand thrown at it and if we had to overnight parts from japan - will kill any supercar 0-60, 0-100 and the standing 1/4

on another note I WILL turn this back into a super geek car forum :D :lmao:

Ah, but will it outbrake one? ;)
lmao no! but that said in dry conditions i bet it would be close... the TF is allot lighter

mind you if he removes his ABS i'd have no chance :dddc:

I have beaten a few supercars in my TF, but the upshot is that they really weren't trying - that's the difference.

When I sprinted my Mini I beat a 911 on a few occasions. However, he was just a more pants driver than me. He came last in class and I came second to last. :D

And at the end of the day who the hell gives a ****?

shall we all take bets on weather my TF will out drag a standard GT-R when it's done?

i would bet a good 5 grand it will ;)

naturally im talking about a R33/34 and not a R35 GTR but then again thats a V6 where as both my TF and the 33/34 will have straight engines, i'll even let them have the extra cylinders and turbos, i bet i still have them on the 1/4 mile

oh i had a point - yes its down to the drivers, but down to mods too... and both are about having fun!

why get all uppity :p

that said a GTR'll be my next car after the TF-R is finished RB26, 1000bhp mmmmmmm

Well there's a bloke I know who's got a car that'll beat any of them....1972 K reg Vauxhall Victor!! Serious 8.3 litre V8 with twin turbos and last I heard 2400 horse power (maybe more now). Claimed to be the worlds fastest street legal car. The need for speed bug gets all of us one way or another!!

red victor by any chance?

it's in the middle of a 3rd rebuild, cleverly entightled red victor III and should punch past 3000 bhp :D

it's a space frame now though so its got about as much vauxhall in it as my TF lol

the fact that its road legal though is all kinds of win!
