I,m pretty sure all the late ones were british built I would have thought the japanese ones would have stopped after splitting from honda ,but I have been known to be wrong now and again regards andy,ps you would probably get a definitive answer and a better price from a local motor factors like partco or even better an x part dealer or try rimmer bros if youre not desperate theyve got a downloadable pretty comprehensive parts list

Looks like there are 2 types of disc - 262mm and the 285mm.

Mine is the 285mm so I may as well get the disc and brake kit then I'll know.

The discs could do with replacing anyway.

AFAIK the 285mm were fitted to the V6 models, hence the Jap built, and the 262mm were fitted on everything else. My Vitesse Sport has 262mm discs but I have seen Vitesses with the bigger brakes as well.

 

Your car will have 262mm brake discs - British built would be the best bet.

The pad differernces are marginal - they will fit and work but may rattle if you have the wrong ones.

 

To make a certainty of things, remove a pair of pads and take them to Partco or another motor factors. That's what I'd do and Halfords would not be my first port of call.

 

Hope you've physically measured the discs.

According to the book, my 800 coupe turbo should have had the bigger discs - it didn't, so be warned before ordering.
