just to make sure if one side goes I don't have to do the pair do I (fronts)?

If I have that option open should I do the pair anyway?

Thanks!

no you don't have to do both sides

depends how brave you're feeling
well i have a spare pair of hubs and as far as I see it I get the new bearing pressed in and pop the hubs on my car - I have done this before so the bolts should come out easy :)

might as well I guess, the hubs are old and so are the current bearings..............

one thing - should the bearing kit come with 1 circlip per bearing or 2?

Called the guy on fleabay and he says they are all sold with one circlip and no one has come back, but he has one box in stock with 2 clips - this all sounds VERY confusing!

Thanks!
I have done 5 recently and oddly all the same supplier some have two clips some one. I would imagine they should have two.

I would do both if you can. These things have 'wear and tear', and if one goes now, chances are the next will go in a while and you'll have to change it too.
Similar to brake pads... they have to be changed in pairs to enable even wearing.
I think the workshop manual says 2 clips!
There are two clips one each side of the bearing, but its pretty much a lottery as to how many you get in the kit.
well I just ordered 2 and asked there be 2 clips per kit. If not I might use one of my old ones, better than having none at all.

I presume the clips help by adding clearance between the hub and the moving wheel..................

No its to locate the bearing in the hub, most bearings push into a stepped flange, these will push right through so a clip each side locates them.

ok - so if there is only one clip included should I aim to put it in first, followed by the bearing?
No you need two clips to retain the bearing outer, so re-use one of the old ones if you have to.
