I desperately need a Hydrogas pump-up. I'm scrapping the Bugger out off my underside on every speed hump in the area.
My coolant temp gauge never leaves zero except when stationary in traffic and then only 2 notches before rad fan kicks-in, even in summer. I guess a replacement sensor next time engine cover is off?

I'd love a new set of Tyres and a new hood, but can I justify the outlay for a car worth only a few quid? ( But I love her )

I want to give her a full service. I haven't touch her in 3 years but have only done 2K miles in that time!

Roll-on the summer for some roof-down fun.

So what's on your list?

Midge, take a look at replacing the spheres with springs, it’s a big improvement.
I need to get my windows to rise and fall a bit quicker than a glacier.
The central locking does not work properly, it whirrs after it pops up.
The light doesn’t come on when you open the driver‘s door, hence no lights on alarm.
Fitting an adjustable alternator bracket, complicated by the fact that the bolt holding the adjuster to the engine block appears to be seized.
Then it will be perfect!

I like the spring's option but I fear that may be beyond my skill set.
After 25 years I don't trust my locking mec's so just leave her always un-locked. Volumetric sensor is to sensitive and I would never dare to double lock her ever. She'd never let me back in!
A little grease for you window mecs may just ease the way.
Who needs a perfect car, just one you love?

I did the springs on my drive in December - Feb. It really is just a case of unbolting things, albeit with a few rusted nuts and bolts. I have done a guide and Mike Satur will help if asked.
I too leave my car unlocked now. A steering wheel lock is used instead.

To change my exhaust, I've got a TT exhaust in the garage, but never get round to fitting it.
The exhaust I've got has more welds than metal, but it don't leak and the MOT station passed it.
Might get round to it when it finally falls off 😇

I’ve refurbed and fitted soft ride springs and dampers on the front of my TF and have refurbed a pair for the back ready to fit. Also bought a set of 4 upper ball joints, and maybe should have done the fronts when I did the dampers🤪
I’ve just syringed off a couple of hundred ml of fresh oil and added Wynns hydraulic valve lifter treatment as the engine has a ‘tick’ on start up which goes when warmed.
I’ve also bought a Chinese heated seat kit and am slowly installing at the same time as replacing the alcantara in my seats with fake x leather. Only done one squab so far…….

Am I wrong because I thought Alacanta is a man made material? Anyway I recently replaced the heater water valve on my F with a new old stock one along with a new resistor unit, all working fine now. But what a job, you have to strip out the complete centre console and that's what takes the time, actually changing the valve takes about five minutes. Had I known the amount stripping down that had to be done I think I would have just put up with hot air blowing throughout the short summer's we have. So now I just have the task of putting the console and associated bit's back together. Always something to do on these cars, but isn't that the reason we love them. Regards to all D4KGP.

You’re right - Alcantara is man made (see pic of a removed and unpicked piece I used as template). It gets really bobbly and naff looking 👀. Tried the bobble removing route but still wasn't happy with it so it had to go!
Forgot to say, I also replaced the ripped rubber seat support with elasticated strips of upholstery webbing (pic)

I wouldn’t say that! Took me bloody ages 😵‍💫 Apparently there is also such things as wrong needle, wrong thread, wrong stitch length and wrong sewing machine foot! Did them all 😂

Just got her back from the garage with a list of to-do's!

First; sort out a potential oil leak from where the dipstick tube goes into the sump. Looks like there is a gasket with a bolt each side so hopefully it's just that.

Then, drop the sub frames + suspension bits and get to work with the ol' grinder and hammerite. Will probably be a visit to Mike Satur's website for some bits.
Maybe I'll spray the bottom of the subframe a bright colour for easy jack positioning too. Might as well fit some stainless cooling pipes whilst the system is drained.

Then, clean up the body work, rear brake lines, and exhaust bits.

It'll be a fun summer of educational tinkering, and expect questions from me! :D
