Hi Chaps..

Thinking again of changing before the bad weather sets in, I realise probably not the best time of year to sell a 2 seater soft top but hey. :)

What are the prices like at the moment ? Mines a Goodwood Green TF160 80th Anniversary Edition with aircon, super condition with replacement green xpower hood with heated rear glass screen, Alpine ipod HU and 24,000 miles.

Many thanks
Pete

ps I should also mention for what it's worth that it's had the C service done and Head Gasket replaced/upgraded (not due to HGF btw) by Russell this year..

It is indeed :)
Seriously mate and look me in the eyes when I say this...... it would be a shame to sell this car by the prices they sell on eBay, Autotrader, Pistonheads,etc.....to sell this example for let's say 4000 is an insult......

I truly think this is one of the best examples of TF in my eyes. There is one more........... it's this one bellow

The price range of TF's at the moment are from 2300-3500 but examples like yours would fetch around 4000-4700 maybe 5000............

But my advice would be don't sell just keep it and get another car if that's what you're after................you'll regret it :(:(

BTW do you have any more pics..........I'm in a mood for drooling

Anel...4K isn't an insult it's a reality....we're in a recession and that's maybe a little light....it might fetch £4,500....but IMHO that would be the absolute best at the moment
Cheers chaps..

Had a quick look on PH and there's some very ambitious prices on there then at the moment, cars up in the 6k's but most of them from dealers and who knows what price they end up going for ;)

Sounds like 5k may have been achievable in the summer perhaps but probably less at the moment I think..

Pete

Oh, I think the links are broken in that thread, will redo them later this evening..

As others have said it looks in good nick, and with a mileage like that obviously has a lot of life in it. I'd be inclined to keep it if you could.
Cheers chaps..

I would have thought £5k as a summer price given its rarity compared to main stream TFs, low miles will help as well and A/C is a rare fitment.
There is a silver one with a red hood that is also a 160 80th anniversary with 10,000 miles on it in the MGOC mag this month that is advertised at £4995. As the prices in there are usually a bit on the high side I would think that you might get £4500.
It certainly seems to be a buyers market with no sign of the situation changing anytime soon.

Ohh don't get me wrong, this is the amount he would probably get, and the market value of TF's are ridiculously low, there are fine examples to have for 2500 up to 3000.....but to let this baby go for the market value price would be a shame, my stand is don't do it...no really DON'T :)

That is a keeper mate - don't do it
Agree :broon:
In summer it would have been a 5K car IMO. The Mrs. is a lovely unpainted 04 model with FSH and 27K but no HG replacement and we paid 4 for it which I though was reasonable - neither a bargain nor cheap. Problem you have now is the cold weather so I would have thought 4 to 4.5K.

I would at least hold out until next spring or if you can afford to keep it, mothball her for next year!

Good luck...

Oh and beautiful car BTW. If you want to sell in spring, give me a shout as I may have some money by then to change over cars as I REALLY like yours!

Well if I had this car, I would never sell ,ever,.........if I felt the need for anything else I'd buy another one to have with the TF.......The upkeep of these cars are surprisingly low, there's a lot that can be done by yourself, there's Russell,MPG is fine, parts cheap,etc....just not worth selling this fine fine example period.....

Good luck...

Heeyyy I wanted to say that :D:D If you would take mine and 2 grand I'd be happy to take that epic trip again :)

There are no pics in that thread or am I just blind?????
Anel......I completely agree with you....I cannot think of any reason why I would sell it either...it is a truly stunning car (if in the wrong colour!!)

KEEP IT!!!!!
If you can wait someone will pay £5k for it, but I suspect you'll get twenty viewings all offering less than £4k.
most cars go through a really low price era then when they get rarer they go up in price i had a rs200mk1 which i really struggled to sell in 1994 for £2200 and it was mint what they worth now £12000-£30000 thats just a example give it 10 years mgf/tf will be worth more?
Just WOW................now don't want to sound rude but are you just teasing us with this or you're really thinking of selling........ohh again if you consider the latter...DON'T DO IT...

And speaking of fine examples there is also a great F from Darren, I hope he's not crazy too and thinks of selling it check this bad boy out :naughty: Agghhh how I wish I was rich :D:D
