front wheel bearings!! give the wheel a good tug see if theres any play, at worst knonking.

 

the floorpans can often suffer from the dreaded rust/rot as well - take a good look underneath...

Central locking can be a bit tempremental, and often fails on one door only - seems to be drivers on many examples i have seen.

wheel bearings arnt to much of a consern, should be a cheep fix i can do my self! ill check em out though, might be able 2 use it as a bargining tool if there squeeky! lol

The jacking points are a known area for rust, I do know that. Central locking is a dog as well.

id basically have to get under the car & check all of it, our lil cheap run around has just died due to excess rust even though on the outside it looks very nice. Its a shame was great runner, 74k & now an MOT failure P reg GSI as well , prob go to the scrappers

on our metro's history yes, however I dont speak for everyone, anything with a small MOT on it & going cheap definately check over , we didnt & now we know why , they don't get rid for no reason.
