polishing pads will have a cutting pattern so that they can be abrasive

finishing pads will have hardly any cut and are used for the final stages such as wax and sealant :)

depends on the polish! anything with a decent cut I use a polishing, but stuff like Super Resin Polish works well on a finishing too. Its expensive trying all the pad vs polish combinations out there. There is no set rule, just go with what you think leaves the best finish!

Cheers guys. The plan i have is use the polishing pad first then wait for the polish to dry. Then use the finishing to remove polish and then sonus das bonnet pad for buffing. Finally use a buffing towel (by hand this time not by polisher) to get a perfect finish.
