Could have been far worse matey, imagine that during a long run... HGF

I was thinking that, would have been doing 150 miles in it tomorrow so glad it happened today...annoying tho because my trip tomorrow will have to be done in a boring picasso rather than the F

Changed my radiator as it wasn't well

Grille Automotive radiator part Road surface Asphalt Composite material

Unfortunately the new all alloy one I fitted had one of the mount pins welded in the wrong area. Annoyingly, although it is brand new, I've had it sitting in a box for over two years so no point in contacting seller ..will have to do a mod on it to rectify. :(

Whilst I was trolling the local scrapyard yesterday, I came across this just lying in the passenger foot well of a Y reg MGF that I was scouring over for various bits.

I recall seeing the above post, and as such, I added it to my 'shopping basket'. All in all, I came home with x2 window stops in good condition, x7 bulbs for the high level brake light as some of mine had gone, an IACV (unfortunately for me, I got the wrong one - needed the earlier one) and a few other bits and bobs.

Asked the bloke for how much.......£15 for the lot. Needless to say, I scurried away rather quickly with my horde, feeling quite chuffed with myself!

I've since plugged in the head unit and whilst it is working, I need a decode for it. I'll ask about that in a new thread.

Bargain that, paid £60 for my radio off fleabay :(

Took the F for an MOT, passed with advisories for rear tyres low and the usual corrosion on underside....mind you, the chap wire brushed it down and sprayed under seal on for free :)

Took both my sun visors off my F as the passenger side was drooping and the drivers side just decided to fall straight. After prising out the bit of plastic which covers the spring, I found the one side had the spring at an angle and the drivers side it just fell out. Repositioned springs, glued tops back on, screwed both back into place and now they both sit as they should :)

Just fitted a new tyre on the back of my F as the one on the car was a tad shredded....Garage only had one 215 40 16 in stock so a tad limited for choice as in no choice at all. Should be interesting as its a make I've never heard before....Minerva F105

Seems ok in the dry, just wondering how much fun it will be in wet conditions :)

Out of interest, what kit do you have that allows fobs to be programmed?
pscan.eu real simple bit of kit for programming, done a good few fobs on my F's and TF's and on others. One thing though, I've a couple of 3txa fobs which can only be coded to the early F's, they don't work on my 1999 F, they are ok for my two 1996 F's but something everyone should check if buying second hand fobs :)

Dropped the front subframe and changed both lower arms on one of the TF's. Only one bolt sheered which surprised me

Left the roof down on my F and forgot as was working on a TF.....drizzled for two hours before I realised......been out with the towels drying it, luckily it has full leather seats so easy to wipe dry. Needed a clean inside anyway :)

Changed ecu and alarm module on my TF 1.6...made no difference, still wouldn't start....however; as I needed to remove the ECU bracket I thought I would take the opportunity to de-rust and repaint it, been rust treated and currently having the red oxide primer drying ready for a nice coat of black tomorrow

Put some paint on my 1.6 TF's ECU bracket....looks dire, mind you, I didn't rub down the runs from the red-oxide I'd primed it with the other day. It still looks a damn sight better than it was though :)

Took TF to bodyshop to get a quote for a new rear bumper including re-spray to match.

Caused by a sh****y Toyosport exhaust, and their notoriously shoddy hangers.

The hanger broke off sometime driving back from Cornwall to Scotland, and it jumped out of the other hanger sometime later, so each tailpipe then sat on the bumper cut-outs and melted their way right through each side of the bumper. Driving too fast to notice anything was amiss, it's possible that the lambda wire stopped it dropping onto the road. Scary.

The body-shop gave a good price for the respray (they've mended & sprayed it before, pranged by an employee in an exhaust fitters, while I was at their counter ready to take it home!). They were happy for me to source a new or salvage bumper. I'll call to check, but I'm hoping this will do it...

Bummer :crying2:
I'd get some sheet stainless and make a surround where the exhaust pipes go through the bumper - or get some of the go faster chequered plate (you know the type they put on go faster car mats) and make a surround. Mind you, you can always pick up a rear bumper on fleabay for around £15 -£20 most days of the week :)

Removed the front to rear brake pipe from my TF160, rain however; has now stopped play so will get the new pipe made and fitted tomorrow. As the under-tray was required to be removed to get the brake pipe off, I've taken advantage of it being off and repainted it the same time.....just wondering if I should also now change the water pipes to a stainless set I have spare in the garage :)
