I continued to harvest parts for my hydragas to sprung conversion and MEMS 2.0 to MEMS 3 conversion.

Out of interest TC, what advantages will that give you?

160bhp over 143, and it will be remappable.

I should also increase the fuel economy as MEMS 3 uses smaller injectors and they are used more accurately.

(it also saves swapping the engine from the old subframe to the new one).

I was thinking about it through the day and I reckon that's what it is. It's sure as hell been weathered today, it's been awful up here!

The weathering that has the biggest effect on paint work is UV damage from the sun.

Yeah, I just thought wow at 4000 revs, totally awesome rasp and you get a bit of burble when dropping off the revs too. They also look good.

If you have a kmaps remap you can get them to add burble (which is unburnt fuel burning off in the exhaust).

I picked my MGF up from the garage after having the O/S driveshift replaced. cheap fix with a second hand one from the auction site.

Only problem is now the immobiliser doesn't function and is beeping constantly!?!

car starts without immobiliser, any ideas?

In the world of FLAC / DAB / Bluetooth, it's not something I would keep in the TF forever.


Now to save up for a more modern ICE ...

I simply replaced the headunit for a CD/DAB one that has a input for the CD autochanger, and added a Bluetooth receiver into the system.

But that wasn't today but years ago.

Yesterday I popped the hood to let the car breath.

I then jacked her up at the front and rested her on axle stands, drained the hydragas fluid (not that there was much) and started on the subframe bolts. 4 of the rear bolts came out easily and 2 got a dose of plusgas and will get more over the next few days until the impact driver comes out. 2 of the front mount bolts came out easily, however it appears that the captive nuts for the other 2 failed at some point in a previous life so the bolts had been put in upside down with a nut on the bottom, not a chance of undoing these and as there is no room for the angle grinder so out came the drill, tedious or what.

Noooooooooooo! - nightmare.

One of the bolt holes is a fraction out and there is evidence of panel replacement when viewed from underneath and of the three windscreen surround panels one is gloss and two are matt.

But I've had her for six years with no feeling of her not driving true so I will get her tracked and we should be fine.

Managed to get all for mounts done up only to find that the F rear mounts only have 3 bolt holes while the TF ones have 4 so I'm either going to have to
1)swap to TF solid mounts
2)flip the F mounts over
3)drill the forth hole in the F mount.

All assume the forth hole is there in the chassis and so I can fit the TF subframe cross brace.

Then there was a F1 and ran stopped play.

Oh, d I discovered I need to drill holes to allow the top shock mounts room and the front air dam is a nightmare to get back on.
