Hi,

I thought this would be an interesting topic:

Please specify the car you own including specs/year/pic(if possible). Also state what you love AND hate about your car.

Cheers

my friends mini was late like that he rang up complained said he had sold his car and now had no transport they gave him a curtosy car and a freemini bodykit to compensate him! he did go mental on the phone with them tho!

oh and back on topic i love my car when the weather is great - i hate it when its not! i also hate the stupid lighter in a really badly designed place and also hate with a passion the sun shade things (the name escapes my memory!) they are so bloddy useless!

'69 Rover 3500 Auto

Love:
Driving it, looking at it.
Tracking down a niggle, working on it and fixing it, on my own.
The effortless cruising of an auto V8.
The burbling V8 soundtrack ambling down a narrow street.
The pickup of the car locked in gear (usually D2) up to 60.
Tracking a corner perfectly at speed and then opening the throttle.
Kids recognising the car giving me a thumbs up or a smile.
Every 1.0 Saxo owner driven by a baseball cap wearing youth that tries to have a go getting shown up by a 36 year old car.

Hate:
Worrying at every new strange sound, clonk or rattle.
Finding a new problem (new ones include rotting rear bumper over-riders, flicking brake warning light and windscreen rubber trim alignment)
The annual MOT worry.
The amount of spares it gets through.
The price of Optimax + octane booster especially at 10mpg around town, 18mpg at 60mph.

'02 Rover 75 CDTi Connoisseur

Love:
Opulent driving comfort, relaxing drive and ride.
Reliability peace of mind.
Fuel economy.

Hate:
Ignorant people that think they are rubbish cars

LOVE

It's Stealth - (it's power)
It's heritage
What it is - british car
It's design
The quality of the interior materials
It's little touches (chrome 'Rover' marked sill scuff things, the interior light coming on when you open it with the remote, light around the ignition)
It's little traits that give it character and seperate it from the rest (Modern cars)
The fact it's not perfect

HATE

When it won't go into reverse and crunches
The sunvisors!!!! (deelun ;) ) when you get them just the right level and they jump back to let the sun blind you!
The vibrating rear view mirror
The rusting hinges of the boot
The fact I'm so concious of the head gasket going

what does it matter if it is a rover? are you saying rovers are bad???? :dddc: :dddc:
Never! :D I do like rovers (tho I prefer MG's). Both my previous cars were Rovers (had a 1.1s Metro and a Rover 216si [bubble]). Both were great cars that I miss.

Rover Metro 1.1s & Rover 216si:

Love:
The acceleration compared to other cars in their class!

Hate:
The constant cooling system problems, and HG failures on the Metro (this did have something to do with an accident I had two weeks after buying the car!!! - still lasted me 3 years tho!)

Love

Engine roar above 4k without mods
Engine pull for a 1.4
Cost of insurance/tax for such a car
the look of it

Hate

The publicity they have ALL gotten, mostly wrongly
The public view of NON drivers ((coupled with above ))( ie teenagers, Britain doesn't make good cars )
The nigling problems, rattles & power windows ( yeh buggered )
The handling round corners, like a boat :p ( altho suspension is lovely on speed bumps )

Rover 25 1.6 il 16v

Love it to bits.
Had it for about 4 weeks now and for the first week kept finding new things i loved about it and still do, some people have slagged of the colour but I think the colour really suits the car (so ya boo sucks to you tom) the power it has suprised me and I love the sunroof(first car with a sunroof I have owned).

The things I hate.
Dirty roads making it dirty
Although I love cleaning it(spend about 3 hours on it every weekend since getting it I'm sure the neighbours must think I just do it to pose)
Hate parking it up at night get paranoid about Vandalism to cars in our area recently(if you cretins touch my car I WILL!!!! perform brain surgery on u someone get my power tools)
Hate u lot talking about HGF it scares me please stop.
Hate hearing new noises(what was that oops another brown trouser moment)

Rover 420

Love:

The fact its still going (200,000 miles of abuse)
The shape
The fact that anyone who is a passenger or drives it instantly likes it
It pulls like a train
The fact I can play with boy racers (off lights or when they attempt to overtake)
The driving position
The seat
The driving experience

Hate:

The list of things I have to get done on it (well I can never find the time to get the little niggles sorted)
The current Condition (Its 3 shades of Green)
The jeliously my missus shows it
The fact that ppl slate it because its a Rover before giving it a chance

Volkswagen Golf 1.8GL

Love:

Fair amount of street cred.
Surprisingly powerful engine.
Engine note.
Vast improvement on the old one.
Not drab metallic grey like the old one.
Alloys.
Stereo.
That I should make a profit when it comes to selling time.

Hate:

The fact I don't have the money to improve it.
Broken sunroof.
Gearbox when it decides to act stubborn.
The way the back end skits about on bad roads.
