Hi all,

I have had my 2002 135 TF since October 2008. It is quite a nice one in Royal Blue with full cream leather and less than 40,000 on the clock. It also has a hood with a heated glass rear screen, 16 inch alloys, big brakes etc. As it getting warmer, I think this is the year it will have to go. I will be sad to sell it as it runs really well but 4 seats are becoming more and more important to me now. I have looked at auto trader and cannot really judge what these cars are now worth. Can you give me a rough idea please?

Thanks

Damion

Based on a lot of the cars viewed via that link and based on the age, mileage if it's in good nick I'd think possibly a bit more, maybe up to ÂŁ2.5k. You didn't mention a hard top so that could knock it back against some examples.

It's difficult to say but I guess it could come down to where you advertised, what other similar / decent examples were available in your area etc. Probably worth looking at cars via a number of sources and sites and going for a bit of a benchmark figure.

no...this is not true absolutely...quote "Is ÂŁ2000 the most I can expect in your views?"

since there is no absolute truth :)

a cars worth, depends on circumstance...

is it worth what the buyer pays and the seller sells it for? that depends on those figures, and the circumstance of any observer... not least since any figure from anyone can be anything...

an individual in that circumstance may consider the figure that the individual is consequent for.. to be the true worth.. or may not...

in other words its worth what you think it is... at that moment... nothing more nothing less.. and you decide what to do then.

so the circumstance is momentary.. and so is the truth... because one car is not the same as another... neither are the circumstances or the truth directly of consequence..

smiles.. you pays your money and you takes your choice or dont..
you look to buy... but dont.. and you dont pay your money and dont take..
you watch, but have no intention of selling or buying...
you want to sell... but not for what is offered... is whats offered the truth? or just circumstance or consequence or all three?

its rare that all three - truth, circumstance and consequence are the same always...even science cant resolve such problems yet...

humans make up the truth, from learning... and we gave that a name... nature doesnt have any names for anything... even absolutely..

i never said 2k would be the most
on a good day you may get close to 3k, on a bad day only 1.5k

depends if you want to shift it quick, or hold on a couple of months for a buyer whos willing to pay more
there are a load of low miles tf's around the 2.5k plus some with hard tops too.

most people are willing to kock a couple of ÂŁ100 of there advertised price ect.

stick it up for 3k, if you dont get any calls after 4 weeks, then you know the price is too high and to start lowering

depends on how much you want to change, i think prices will start to go up in a month or 2 anyway when (if) the sun comes out

I know someone selling a standard MGF for ÂŁ200 (it has a clutch slave cylinder needing replacing but it had the head gasket done and is in reasonable condition) If I had somewhere to store it I would buy it and break it (taking a few bits for myself-door cards and dashboard)

I just spent ÂŁ1700 on mine, on paper I know it wasn't worth it, but regardless what the market says my car is ÂŁ5000 minimum in my eyes. The reason being that I have owned the car for many years, know it to have low and genuine mileage and paid ÂŁ5500 for her.

The value of money has been going down generally, and my ability to earn it also... and it is harder to find a car like mine than it was then (60k on a 1997 is low)

Anyway, long story... but I think the market has these undervalued and I am going to keep mine indefinitely.
