What a difference 15 degrees makes

I have been 'testing' my new PiperX filter for the past two days now.
I really love the sound of it, but at first I couldn't really say I was impressed with the powergain (or powerloss for that matter). The car felt a lot slower at lower revs. At higher revs (so higher speeds and better cooling) it felt as before.
This morning when I was driving to work it was 17 degrees outside, instead of the 32 degrees of the past two days. The car felt so much faster, it really amazed me.
The difference was really noticable.
I think this clearly shows how important good cooling of a induction kit is. At the moment I have one cold air feed, but it seems that I have to add another one.

You need to make a heat shield for your Induction kit, or you will always be pulling in hot air.

It will never give you as much power gain as the standard air box with an after market panel filter.

But id stick with the induction as you can not beat the sound they make, power is not everything. lol

just more thinking out lould

if engine is effecting by the outside temperature - then temperature from engine (asssumed to be constant) isnt making a difference

no matter how many pipes you have going to your air filter

if its 35 degrees outside then the air going to your air filter will be 35 degrees, no matter how fast your going.

also mems might now be adjusting itself to the new filter - giving increased peformance
