Hi!,
2015 MG3 Luxe. 23K miles.
Hoping someone can help......... water in rear passenger footwell!!!
A new door seal was fitted approx one year ago but still water is finding its way into the car footwell.
There appears to be no visible tracking of water.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Would tightening the door latches help?

I look forward to any suggestions.
Many thanks

Stu12dozen,

Thanks for your suggestion - it may come to this but I don't fancy this as an annual cost! - I really feel that someone, somewhere, will have an insight as to just how and where the water gets in and how to stop it.

Cheers

I've read elsewhere that the seal loses its bounciness and becomes rigid which is why the water finds a way to come into the passenger compartment.

You could try using some vinyl/rubber conditioner to see if you can reverse the process otherwise it'll be a new one as previously suggested.

Cheers..

mattykan,
Many thanks for your suggestion........
I have the very same product and have liberally treated the offending seal.
The portable electric heater has been set to work to dry out the carpet so we shall see how we get on.
Let's hope!!
Cheers

My wife had a similar issue, I was lucky that I found where the water was getting in, I replaced the seal and it's now resolved.

mgbob,
Many thanks for your reply and photo.
I will give the rubber conditioner a try and if not then it does look like another seal.
Cheers
