Allan .... Flip the front hood the VIN is located on a plate behind the ABS pump on the left as you open the hood, thats on a TF

 

That's the only two places mate

Stamped on the inner front wing - near the horn mountings ?

 

VIN Number

Just had the same problem for the MOT. The number is hidden by the plastic cover that goes round the brake servo and covers the wiper motor.

Photos shows where mine is on a LHD car once the plastic cover is removed, obviously your brake servo will be at the other side, but the VIN number should still be just by the horns.

I trimmed the plastic cover so that next time the MOT guy can see it without having to remove the cover.

 

there is one in the boot just on the bulkhead behind the ECU

The stamped in one is as per Winterfg's pic on the inner wing and the boot according to http://www.mgfcar.de/vin/emgf_vin.htm - scroll to the bottom of the page for the diagram

That makes the VIN in four places ! - no wonder they do not get rung much :bgrin2:

 

You can see the vin stamp in the lower left hand corner of this pic (RHD 1997 MGF)
