If it's off an early MGF, it will go straight on. If it's the smaller later sort, you will have to trim a small amount of rubber off the bottom of the airbag module so it fits in the wheel.

I wouldn't worry about the airbag going off - they're not that fragile but do treat it with respect. Disconnect the battery at least 10 minutes before you remove the airbag to allow any charge to drain from the system.

Thanks for the info, its a smaller one i think, its off 1997 model?
