I'm looking to do some small upgrades to the interior of my TF. Its totally standard. I don't want to make it look ridiculous and non original. Was thinking of adding some chrome bits to just try and modernise it a little. Any ideas? Opinions on what looks good and awful?

PS im not into ripping out seats and ripping out dash. Just looking for nice subtle upgrades which are easy to do and look good.

I dunno, I've never gone for the alloy bits, to me it always shouts "waaaah I got ÂŁ20 I need to spunk so I bought some alloy jazz".

I do quite like the gloss black finish in the later cars, although part of me thinks all it does is highlight the bits that are Matt black.

I think a set of hoops is all the interior shiny bits you want :)

chrome or stainless handbrake button, subtle but nicer than the boring black one....I've stainless ones on my F and TF courtesy of my bro who has his own lathe :) have said to him to make more as he could prolly sell them on fleabay

Chrome ashtray is worth a punt as well, look on fleabay for Jaguar xjs ones rather than mgf/tf they are the same but the jag ones are a lot cheaper

Chrome/stainless or bronze cigar lighter plug also looks like they are meant to be there, my bro (again) turned me a stainless plug and put a MG badge on it, he's got a bronze plug, weighs a bit but also looks nicer than chrome/stainless

Generally I'm not a fan of the "add chrome/alloy bling" approach, however the standard heater knobs are ugly as sin. My recommendation would be to replace them first.

I used the Mike Satur ones, but I know others are around. I quite like the MGF Centre ones too.

Agree with above. Gotten plenty of chrome trim from MS. Always worth checking ebay aswell. We have added anodised chrome pretty much everywhere you can on the interior and I dont think it is overkill. Each to their own though.

What does "totally standard" mean?

I have a Spark, which means that it already has the chrome ashtray and handbrake button, along with silver-colour console and steering wheel. I added chrome heater knobs and rings and a chrome gear knob.

I'll try and remember to edit a couple of pictures in here tomorrow.

Good point re seats. Mine's anthracite that had the improved cloth seats but it was all too dark really. Dropped in some alcantara's that were going cheap on ebay and it's improved the cabin no end. Also waiting for delivery of the alloy look overlay template for the dash etc. Not holding my breath with the results but thought it was worth a punt :)

when I say standard, its not been blinged up. Original seats, steering wheel etc. It does have a chrome gear knob and chrome gaiter but that's about it. Its been pretty much unmolested. What are the alloy look overlays you talk about GMan2? I have looked on ebay at something which sounds like it could be similar. If it is id be interested to know how it looks.
