Upgrade for 200 Headlights?

Does anyone know of a good modification or replacement bulb to upgrade the 200 headlights so that they actually light up the road.
The 45 I had a couple of years back had fantastic lights. I wonder if anyone does a conversion to 4 round lamps?

I think the lamp diameter is restricted by the gap between the bonnet and bumper. The 25 doesn't have that problem.
I think the lamp conversion looks OK. As for the other items on that site, I think they are best left to the MAX POWER brigade.

I put some Halford Ice Blue ones in my BRM and also some ice blue side lights from Powerbulbs.co.uk. Really makes a difference. OK they don't look blue, by any stretch of the imagination, but they do give off a really nice White Light. They're still not amazing however. Might have something todo with the fact the lenses are plastic????????

The lenses on my 45 were plastic as they are on my wifes Skoda Fabia. The lights on both these vehicles are very good.
I remember seeing an Auto Express test on bulbs some time ago, I'll have to search around to see if I can find it.

I think it's down to personal choice really. The Vision Plus bulbs are more expensive than the Blue Vision ones, but I'd still go for them. I've seen a few cars fitted with bulbs that claim to mimic HID (gas discharge) bulbs but IMO they don't come very close. If it's brighter lights giving better visibility you're after, I would go for the Vision Plus. If you're looking for a blue tinge to your lights and don't have as much to spend then go for Blue Vision.

Has anybody got these ones?

They give a blue light that replicates those expensive gas discharge lights... opinions?

Perhaps a tad expensive, are they worth it?
I have Vision H7's and they are pretty good. I don't think they shine any further, but the area that is lit is much brighter.
I fitted the blue side lights that came free from powerbulbs, but I can't tell the difference. I now intend to upgrade my main beam lights and driving lamps too - but that is quite expensive.

Vision Plus are superb - much better than stuff you buy in Halfords and better than the blue vision too - I tried em all in the scoob, which has worse headlights than the 200 trust me ;) Missus BRM is much better standard than mine were.

I would seriously recommend Vision Plus and I'll soon be putting a set in the missus car :D

I think converting it to 25 style lamps would be too expensive (front bumper etc). Also having a 200 BRM it would be a shame to stray too far from the original look (I've already been criticised for the green grille). I have found this conversion:

I think probably bulbs are the way to go, but I'm worried about which to use.
Hi Yes those headlight conversions are expensive. In fact they are for a lot of cars. I think you can stick with those orginal lam shape. If you want to give it a more stylish look as I assume you want that as you are looking at those twin light conversions, why not get a pair of eyebrows? They are around ÂŁ35-40 bracket and you can put them on yourself. All you need to do is paint it to the colour of your car and done!

Not sure how you stand with plastic lenses but my Mk2 coupe has been treated to 110W main beam bulbs. They are strictly not legal as they don't carry the E mark (post 87 cars that is) but easily pass the MOT. There is a slight glare from the sign posts but worth it.

I hold no responsibility for melted lenses tho :p

P.s. Can you get headlight brows for the MK2 that wrap round the indicators too?

The Philips Vision Plus bulbs are excelent and worth every penny.

I have fitted them to all our family's cars and they do make a difference.

Remember that in some cars you will need 2 sets (dipped and high beam) so it can get quite expensive!
