Hi I have been offered an ECU (for my 220 turbo coupe) which is supposedly chipped by motorbuild... I have opened the case and the chip is a Motorola which seems to be sat on something else with wires coming from this to a seperate small board that is glued onto the main circuit board...... Anyone know what this should look like?
Also noted that inside the lid when you take it off, there is someones initials in black marker pen...looks like CC and the date 20/07/02.

sounds like the right part.

it fools the ecu into thinking the max boost you are running is lower than the cutout point (iro 14.5-15psi). all it will do is let you run more boost and/or more ignition than your engine can handle.

only worth it if you have forged pistons as it will kill std ones after a while.
