Towing

Ive always been a massive fan of the Rover 200 Coupe and owned one or two over the years. Ive currently got an R600 which is fine but im getting the feeling i really want another coupe. The problem is ive recently bought a caravan which only weighs 1000kg. Now ive seen quite a few coupe's with towbars fitted but cant find either a listing anywhere for them or the max towing weight. Is it possible (legal) to tow with this car or am i ******* in the wind??

1000 kg is the max towing weight for k16 engined R8, 900kg for 8v.
