So I have my MGF and love it. But its the standard 1.8i and It doesnt really give me enough.

It has a 52mm Alloy TB K&N 57i filter and Mike Satur Daytona exhaust.

I'm considering an engine swap but not sure what to go with.

Either a VVC 1.8i or a 160? But I have yet to come across a 160!?

Or Supercharge the current engine..

Or! drop in a VVC and supercharge that.

Or lol....

"soup up" ??? The current 1.8i, not sure how "much" you could actually get out of this engine!?

I've got sooo many things I'm doing to this car and its going to be a one of a kind which makes me think the supercharger option.

Currently I've converted the car into a TF, lowered it uprated brakes all round and the tf trophy alloys.

Respray is booked for 26th and replacing both sub frames due to rust.

I've spent around 4 grand so far and pushing myself to get everything perfect before I tackle the engine.

I'd say I'm getting close to that position. Car went in today for more work, the exhaust fitted and filter/TB :)

So back to the engine, if I stayed with the standard 1.8i whats the most I can expect from it?

What about bolt on only kits?

I've lost my link does anyone have it? It has test results from each bolt on kit....

I have around 1k left for the engine so far.. Saving more............

I have coilovers all round.

The spray is just the outter body as the colour is staying the same

Its not a different colour respray.

ÂŁ650 for the spray.. and I've known the guy for 6 years. He is amazing.

He works at a local garage at night when spraying....

I didnt do the work on the suspension it was carried out before I took the car.

How is your supercharger project coming along?

I am really interested in your thoughts and ideas!!!

D
My thoughts and ideas are you need a lot of money. I am going over the top and so it is taking an eternity. Somebody coming to see my motorbike tomorrow, so fingers crossed I might have ordered a Lightweight forged steel crankshaft for the project, and will be ÂŁ1450 ish lighter. Still, if a jobs worth doing.......
