Just thought I'd like to share the email with you all that I received from Elvington this morning:-

Hi Jim,

I'm pleased you all had a good weekend. I have passed on your comments to all concerned.

We look forward to seeing you all again in the future.

Kind regards

Christine Mellor
Museum Services Manager
Yorkshire Air Museum

looks like they enjoyed having us - thanks to all that came, got to be the best behaved group of people I've ever met.

Enjoyed organising it, hope we'll do it again soon.

Cheers to all.

That's a definite plus from me. All go for next year I hope.

Have we got a page for Cosford to get a list of the peeps attending? Might attract some more from here to go.
On behalf of those who might not read this thread i want to thank you for your organization of the meet.
It was £7 per adult to get in yet you managed to get £4 per car regardless of occupants .

You done a fine job and i just want to tell the rest of you how committed to this forum and the MARQUE in particular this man is .

JIMBO is MG/rover thru and thru , he LIVES our cars and his passion comes through in bundles .
I spent more time with him over the weekend than i have in previous times and FRANKLY his love for our cars frightens me a wee bit .

He has achieved his ambition of owning a V8 ROVER 75 and couldn,t be happier .

HERE,S TO YOU JIMBO .

Looking at those old bombers and reading the [missing in action] letters brought a lump to my throat .

Those old pictures of the aircrews was eerie .

putting faces to names is great fun and they are such great characters when you finally meet them , i waited over 3 years to meet KELVIN and what a guy he is !!.
he drove all the way from HAMPSHIRE to meet up with the troops , great company and a good laugh.

In saying that i never tire of meeting MR EDD and DAMIEN et al !!!.

All good people and all love the marque .

Cant name all the folk who showed up but respect to you all as you love your cars .

I even still worship mine even tho the aux belt shredded in the middle of nowhere with a desperate phone signal .

Thanks for the very kind comments that you all have made regarding the meet it was my pleasure to organise it and I'm really glad how much you all enjoyed it.

However it was not all down to me, you all came with the intention of having a good time and making the best of the rather poor weather we had. It really makes me feel happy so many people share such an enthusiasm for their cars and MG Rover - long may it last.

The bonus was the venue, it's such an awe inspiring site with so much history.

Once again thanks all for coming - let's do it again.

All the best

Jim
