I had a thought today.To avoid the fuss of getting the crank pully spot on I tryed a piece of welding rod snippen to about 18mm and slid it into the groove in the middle of the crank gear DOTs then just peered down from above to reassure myself it was bang on with the oil pump flange.

Give it a go and let me know if it's easier.:idea:

Sounds good ... any chance of a picture ... worth a thousand words ... apparently.

My camera wouldn't get a shot from above its not good enough, but this will give an idea of what im on about slip the marker be what it may into the two dots, well from a MKII youcan look right down and see the flange with my marker but for other models im not sure, from memory a MKIII should works too.
