Tidying up my steering wheel.

My steering wheel has beige leather bits on the top and bottom of it, the bottom bit looks great but the top bit is looking a bit tatty. It looks as though the previous owner(s) of the car wore rings and as the wheel slipped through their hands I think the rings where snagging on the leather and taking the top off.
When I bought the car (from a dealer) the wheel was in great condition all around so I believe he may have used some sort of cream on it to mask the imperfections (obviously in time this has worn away).
Does anyone know what I could use to put the wheel back into a showroom look finish?
One day I'll ditch the beige interior but i reckon it'll be cheaper to buy a new car instead.

I've used that upholstry leather cream, no jokes please, on mine and then some of those wipes and mine came up a lot better - the bad part was that it was then lethaly slipply for a month or so.

Will be watching this thread for better sudgestions...
To get a long lasting solution you need to re-dye the affected area. You can get leather touch up kits from these people:

http://www.CARLEATHERDYE.CO.UK

and a number of others who advertise on ebay

Cheers for the link.
I've just looked on their site in the gallery bit and the results that can apparently be acheived are amazing.
I think i might have to get myself a small bottle of their gear.

I'm still open to more suggestions though!

Don't suppose there's anything I can pick up from Halfords is there?
Just been looking about on ebay and have came across this...

What are people's opinions on using something like this?

That's shoe polish?

If you don't mind getting beige hands everytime you drive your car, then it could work I guess? ;)

At least I could keep re-applying it as I go round corners!

I didn't know whether it would come off after drying onto the wheel or not.
I got the same problem on my Trophy Blue leather steering wheel.
Any ideas ?

I presume it would, someone tried shoe polish on their seats and ended up with a black bum!
Don't use the coloured shoe cream. I used that to try to enhance the colour after I had died my armrest red. Lot's of passengers got upset when they got out of the car with red sleeves!

Use the proper car dye as per my oroginal response above. it costs about 20 pounds for a kit but will last you forever to touch up any scuffs on any part of your cream interior.
