I had a Ka as a courtesy car a couple of years ago... *shudder*... it was like driving a rollerskate, and I'm sure it had a hamster in a wheel where the engine should have been. :S

 

Took my baby to a dealer at the weekend to se what he would give me part ex against a Freelander...... £1600.... I mean £1600!!!
Needless to say I told him to get stuffed... anyway... I have decided to keep her for now until the summer and see what I get offered then..
So for now, its tops down at every opportunity.... :smug_git:

You will find the Freelander very dull to drive, especially after the MGF. I had one a few years ago now and never really took to it, it has no character but it is quite a capable vehicle. If you can, get a TD4 over the 1.8 engine.

I traded mine in for a Discovery TD5 which is so much better. Last summer I used my Father in laws Freelander for a weeks holiday and found the same situation as with mine, capable but oh so dull.

If you do go for a Freelander, don't pay over the odds as there are plenty about for not much cash! Reliability wise, they are not all bad, my Father in law had his for 5 years (just traded in last month) and it never even needed a bulb replaced in that time. 100% reliability.
