The Latest on the TT Mk4/4 Delivery

I have just been informed by the manufacturer that the delivery of TTs is going to be a little later than expected by a couple of weeks or so. Amazingly and probably for the only time In the process of that discussion I managed get a rebate in the costs.

As this whole exercise is not a profit making one, this rebate I will share with the customer, so to all of you who have bought a TT Mk4/4 you will be receiving a rebate of £15. Also it means I can return the TT Mk4/4 to its earlier price of £250 without finishers and £275 with. Making it once again a very competitive price.

Is there any choice on the finishers?
Indeed there is... they come in the "Yes Please" and "No thanks" variety.

Haha! Nice one Paul made me laugh there a little!
Wonder how many people there are who when they first came to this site when they first saw tt exhausts mentioned wondered why would you fit an Audi exhaust on an Mgf :err:

i'm 1 of them!!!
TT exhausts, named after Trevor Taylor MG Guru as a sort of memorial to him. Maybe it should have been called NW exhausts, but that would be just too egotistical wouldnt it! Sorry about the confusion. Obviously I am not making enough effort to promote these exhausts if people on this site dont know what they are.

Anyhow they only fit MGF/TFs there is a whole history documented on the websites...if either of them actually worked! Come on Ally pls get Scuba off his derriere!

Finishers. On or off is the choice. Originally I wasn't going to do them at all. I liked the bruatl and large pipe look of the original TT Mk1 #'1 I have on my car.

The TT is the opposite/antidote to those exhausts which are actually a bit pathetic but have great big finishers welded on.

Just as well you've got a new one coming. That bit will probably hold until then but it's definitely on its way out.

It's a pretty rough and corrosive old place around the box.

You'll have to give it a good old scrub Ross. Do you meanm you are taking off the whole exhaust to do that?
I though only saddos like me did that!

I had to go up a grade of stainless steel in the Mk4/3 finisher. to 304 Stainless to give it more corrosion resistance. Most stainless systems are made of 409 grade.
I use a drill with a mop and loads of autosol. If it doesnt come up perfectly it's called patina but TTs are pretty resistant to that.

Jat yes Art's pipe will be pretty much the same as the one you are to get except I have made a few slight changes to the brackets and the muffler diameter is the same size as the Mk1, Mk3, and Mk4 Mk4/3 s

We have experimented with a different sound deadener/packing too so they should start "Pre-mellowed" which is what people seem to want.

Packing more brillo pads in eh Neil..??

I can't believe you are mellowing the TT down - keep it 'Loud and Proud'
