Hi all -- just fitted 3 of the "new TF" heater knobs to my 03 tf. Straight swop,no messin - and light shines through knob - great in the dark - MGR part no JFD000060 about a tenner each but worth it..

Not yet - will get some done.
These could be for me, piccies, piccies, piccies !!!!
they dont look much different to the normal tf ones and at 30 for the set, i would prefer spending an extra 10 quid and getting MS ones.

Do the MS knobs illuminate or do you still have to grope around in the dark?

OR wear a caving head lamp like somebody we all know
i am not at liberty to say. (translated to mean i havent a clue)

reason being, i dont own a set of MS knobs, but after seeing them in ppl's cars i tihnk they look a lot better than MG stndard ones. AFAIAA they havent a hole in so no light is emited but i may be wrong.

and personally, i hardly ever move my knobs so being able to see in the dark isnt an issue for me. the area knob always stays on windows. the speed one always stays on 2 unless top down and chilly then it goes upto 4 . and the heat one is always span around to hot regardless and hten moved back upto straight when it gets hot.

MS have no lights but as the wise Mr Deano notes, who needs to move 'em more than 1 notch anyway? The MS ones look great and are a vast improvement on the placcy cr*p supplied by our good friends at longbridge....
I agree with you both BTW. Mine stay in one spot except the heat which stays on low if just me in car or max if SWMBO in car and roof down.

I got some MS knobage from Stoneleigh, discounted to £30.
They don't illuminate.
They do have a hole drilled so you can see what they're set to. In the dark I use the Deano method above or "feel" where the hole is.
I read on here someone was going to scrape the plastic/paint behind the knobs to get light to shine through so the hole would illuminate, don't know whether it was attempted or not.

Soz, but IMHO they look as bad as the old ones.
agree with you there pete, my local mgr dealer has just gone bust tho! Im going to get them next month when my car goes in for its 10000 mile service, even though the clock only shows 1300 miles!! Like them much better than the MS ones
Fancy Selling Your Old Ones?

Hi

If any of you guys fancy selling your old knobs, please give me a shout as anything is a good upgrade to the standard black MGF ones! :)

Cheers
I'm planning to replace the silver illuminated knobs in my new 05 TF with the otherise identical black ones fitted to the new 05 Rover 25.

If anyone out there with a new 25 wants to do a straight swap, let me know. :)

I thougt the TF knobage was unique, you sure its a straight swop TF <-> 25 ??
The new 05 TF has revised HEVAC controls. These appear to be the same as those fitted to the 05 R25, just silver rather than black.
