TF for a taller driver

Hi all, I've recently reserved a TF, but having not sat in one/driven one before I'm not sure if I'm actually going to fit. Is anyone on the taller side and had any experience with one?

I'm not massive, 6ft 1in, but I have heard it can be tight if you are over 6 foot. I have fairly short legs for my height (31inch inseam). Do you think I'm likely to be alright? If not, is there anything that can be done to lower the seat? I've seen some posts circa 2004 on here talking about seat lowering springs, has anyone tried those?

Any other advice relating to the TF would be appreciated. I'm going to view the car in a few days time, hopefully all will be well

It is a little roomier than many other cars of its type. We've had an MX5 S2.5 and an S2000 alongside the TF over the years, the TF is the roomiest of the lot (with the S2000 a close second). I could only drive the MX5 with the roof down, simply due to the fact I had to step into it and then slide down to ensure my left knee could slot in to the left of the (non-adjustable) steering wheel.

Always best to try sports cars out, as you have done, because for every "I'm 7'2" and I fit perfectly!" comment there's someone else claiming "I'm 4'6" and even I don't fit". We're all differently proportioned, some are bendier than others, and there's also the question of how keen you are to make yourself fit :D

Yeah you're right, the only other sports car I've tried was a mk3 MX-5 PRHT and I found I didn't have enough headroom - the TF has about 2cm of headroom spare in my case. My only real issue was my left knee hitting the wheel but I think that's down to me being used to a different driving position - moving the seat back further solved it so I've been driving around in my current car like that trying to get used to it
Those folding hard top MX5s have a bit less headroom than the soft tops, one of my friends had one and she said it was quite noticeable Vs the soft top model she test drove.

The TF has an adjustable steering column so that might resolve the knee issue if you didn't spot the adjuster.
