Hi, I've seen a few posts mentioning a valve in the stock exhaust on the F/TF. I was wondering how it operates? i.e. does it open at a certain speed/rpm? does it depend on engine temp or something like that?
It was put in place to reduce drive by noise, it is operated using the engine vacuum controlled via the ECU opens the right-hand exhaust at something like 3000RPM. However, I doubt that there is now any TF with a working valve.
I have what appears to be the original back box still in good condition with the valve fitted and connected, whether it works or not is another matter.
My brother's late 2003 TF has one and it all works as it is meant to...seems odd seeing fumes only coming out of one pipe
