I have a 1996 Rover T16 engine (non-turbo) in my Morgan +4. I need a new rear main seal and have had difficulty finding a source for this. Is it possible that the main seal for the M16 is the same? I was also told that the MGB would have the same seal . . . ? I would greatly appreciate locating the proper seal for the T16.

Have you looked on the Rimmer bros website?
They aint they cheapest, but they are a good source of British car parts.

There is a good chance the M series seal might be the same. I doubt anything from a B series would fit, but i could be wrong.

The seal is common to the T series and L series engines. I'm not sure about the M series, but it could well be the same. It is a bolt on seal in a housing rather than just a big circular oil seal.
Also may be available from landrover too (as the T series was used in that too 2.0MPi).
