swapping passenger seat to drivers side

Asking this on behalf of the new owner of my Mk1 seats. He bought them because his drivers seat is worn and he wants my passenger seat. What is the easiest way to achieve this - I'm assuming that taking the seat off the runners and attaching it to his is probably best - or would it be quicker and more painless to remove the seat covers?

Looking at mine the seats are fixed to the runners, welded or riveted.
I wanted to use the runner from the drivers seat on a bucket seat but decided to make a new runner for the bucket seat
I think the recline adjusters will be the wrong side. Not sure if you can reverse them. Suspect there's a rivet or two, possibly peaned ends.
Not only the recliner adjuster but the subframes are sided as where it bolts to the floor the lugs where you bolt it down will NOT bolt in the other side.
The rear mounts are as follows
Outside rear mount is horizontal and inside rear mount is vertical so unless you can cut them off and reweld them they cannot be swapped from side to side
i guess..... although im not sure....

for taking the seat off runners...
then reverse for re-fitting... although there are rivets and other stuff involved...
Thats a good link, I may be able to remove the subframe now and fit my bucket cheers
In reply to the OP... its far easier just to take off the seat covers and re fit on the other handed seat..any advice on this pm coleman he is a dab hand at removing seat coverings.

You Called! I did this with phil's old set, you dont even need to remove the cover. if you undo the clip at the bottom the whole thing foam, cover and everything will come off the frame. then just swap it across.
