I have noticed quite a few of you lot declaring your love for all things mg now that the sun is out. Personally, Im not an mgf slut - I dont drop my top the moment the sun comes out. I do, however, don my sunnies  .

Anyway, having just got my car back from the garage with a whole new engine, I am pleased to say it is running like a dream. Its a low mileage TF 135 engine (my car is a 120bhp mgf 2001) fitted with my 52mm throttle body and K&N Apollo Induction.

As the K&N was 2nd hand off fleabay it came without the induction tube, so I used the one off the original airbox to get some cold air to the filter. I got the proper replacement tube the other day, however, with a bigger bore. I pushed it right up against the left hand air vent/scoop and connected the other end to the filter.

Now it feels like the car is full of energy, with the slightest blip of the throttle allowing precise and pretty impressive acceleration! Before under heavy acceleration it gave out a deep growl, but now with the new induction tube feeding more cold air more directly to the filter it produces a more 'tuneful' noise - and much more responsiveness... Love it!

Planning to change my brake pads tomorrow for some Black Diamond ones I have ordered. Any tips other than 'do a search' ?! I have a mate who is going to give me a hand, but neither of us have done it before although understand the process.

I just wanted to let you all know that although these cars seem to get me down at times, when they work they work pretty well! I dont need to drop my top to have a good time (well not until I get a windguard anyway ;) )
