Stolen MGF VVC

Hi folks - long shot, I know, but I have been conned out of my car by a rogue local car dealer. The reg is R322 LRC and it's a nightfire red VVC. The police and DVLA have it flagged as stolen, but it'll only get retrieved if it gets stopped for some reason or someone tries to register the V5.

Just thought that MGF/TF drivers are going to take more note of others on the road. The conmen don't have a history of ringing, just selling on 'fraud' cars, so if you see it, please report it to your local police or call me on 0794 089 3990. It can also be distinguished by a Milltek exhaust (both exhausts in the middle of the rear bumper, not the edges and a Milltek sticker).

If it gets recovered due to your tip-off, I'll see you right!

Thanks folks!

If the moderator could make this sticky for a while, I'd be ever so grateful.

I'll keep an eye out for you Brooktop. Can you name the car dealer in question ?

edit : speaking for myself, I would not want anything in return for you getting your F back. Best of luck mate.
Sticky done.

Also probably worth you putting it on the twoc website.

Hope it is found soon.

...ditto.... I'll be keeping an eye out as well, so consider south Derby covered
If it makes it's way down South I'll be looking out for it. Good luck....
Yup, got my bit of north covered, sorry to hear it, best of luck.
I'll do the same. Just as an aid to memory

Sorry to hear about that mate.

Will try to keep an eye out for you. So consider my part of kent covered.

What might be an idea for me and perhaps others, is to have a little post-it note type thing easily see-able such as over the fan opening bit to the right of the steering wheel noting the important bits like the reg, colour and distinguishing features (i.e. Miltek exhaust). I say this because at this point if you weren't in any rush anywhere, you could phone your local police station (on hands free of course :minxy: ) and tell them that you believe the car to be stolen and let them know where you are, and then perhaps if you were feeling really nice you could follow it with the cops permission until a police car can be dispatched. All this within reason as you don't really want to be following them for 500 miles. Just an idea is all.

The R322 part I thought of R32 Golf if it helps :)
Brooktop, sorry to hear of thr loss of your "little red car" . It might help if you know the chassis number as if it has been taken then it may have false plates by now. May help if you have details of the "trader" published, if you know them.

Good luck.
Consider Warrington covered and surrounding areas. should be easy to spot with the center exit exhausts as i am after one of them so will def notice that.

Any info about the trader and or circumstances of how he conned you might be a benifit to others mate,

Sorry about your lose. i have had a car stolen and its a gutting feeling :(
Bolton/Wigan covered. Sorry to hear all that! How did they con you?
funnily enough we had somone trying to get into the garage last night and 6 cars were broken into in the barnsley area alone last night! on one street!!!!!
I keep my eye out for other F's and TF's anyway, in the Northamptonshire area so i'm not a million miles away, so i'll keep an eye out for yours. Any red ones with the centre exhausts i'll investigate further, I wish you the best of luck!

Blimey...you guys are restoring my faith in mankind. I know my fault is I'm too trusting but he seemed plausible...I even went round to his house (which I've now discovered is rented). He gave me a receipt on letterhead and a company cheque.

The co is 'Impact Vehicle Leasing' and the co cheque was 'Direct Property Services'. The guy is called Phil Sutton - aged about 60, about 11 stone and 5' 7", grey hair with glasses, heavy smoker. His partner is called Nigel Starbuck (mid 50 about same height but about 13 stone, dark hair) and they both operate in Nottingham, but I believe they are pulling scams all round the country - so watch out! I have learnt a very sobering lesson and feel really foolish.

Thanks once again everyone. Gotta go to bed now because me and the girlfriend haven't slepped for 2 nights!

What is the 'twoc' site - Taken Without Consent? I'll check it out tomorrow.

Btw - I do have all their contact details, but they won't meet me or anything. They contacted me after seeing my ad in the local paper.

Thanx again!

When I've got more time, I'll resize and post a pic of the rear and exhaust. It also has a scratch on the nearside rear bumper.
yeah www.twoc.co.uk is a handy place to report it

South East Wales covered :)

Yeah I was going to say a picture showing any scratches or dings it had would be dead handy.

Just goes to show you've got to be so careful with things like that, so easy to get taken in.

Will keep an eye out for it on Merseysiside as well.
