The accelerator pedal on my TF is heavy to push down. I have removed the pedal box and lubricated all the pivots and forced oil down the cable using a motorcycle oiler. With the cable disconnected at the throttle body the pedal action is silky smooth. The quadrants at the throttle body also turn freely. The problem is the strength of the coiled return spring connected to the quadrants. Is it possible to slacken off the tension? One other possibility would be to extend bracket that acts as a stop to the outer cable so I can connect the inner cable to the larger quadrant. This would give a greater mechanical advantage but a longer pedal travel. Any advice will be VERY much appreciated since it is quite difficult to drive the car in traffic, especially if there are hill starts.
