I bought a new steeringwheel for my 420 and I'm going to replace it on the weekend, just wondering should I disconnect the battery to avoid the airbag going off? or is that rediculous?

The theory is disconnect the battery and leave for 20 minutes for the circuit to de-activate, I did this when I changed my wheel - Better to be safe than sorry.

Yeah, would be dangerous if it went off.

I don't have the immobiiliser code though. Is there a good chance I could screw that up??

Mines a 45, but when I re-connected the battery first the rad-fan came on so I turned the ignition on and off and that sorted that, then just pressed the push buttons a couple of times and it worked again, but there was one instance when I had to manually lock and unlock the car with the key before it worked.

Oh - and then the airbag went off - Just joking......
