im thinking about getting a sporty stainless backbox for my 1996 214si but am worried that it will mess up the running of it.
i had a vauxhall corsa which i brought a stainless "tuneable" exhaust for,i must admit it was a cheapy one(£50) and ended up paying another £80 to have it custom welded to fit my corsa..so much for universal fitting!! the thing is that it messed up my car no end,the fuel consumption went throught the roof and it lost alot of power and it stank to high heaven and it sounded like a wet fart.my car was never the same after i had it fitted.
a mate of mine had a jap exhaust fitted to his pug 306 and suffered from low compression and high emissions and spent a fortune getting it all sorted but still the fuel consumption is about 25% higher than it used to b4 it was fitted
ive seen a few on ebay for around the £100 mark, sportex if i remember correctly.being a better make and already made to fit straight on my rover is it worth getting or should i just stick wiv the original factory fitted exhaust?
