had my first experience today!

its pouring down and light turned green, went to turn corner and the arse of my car slid out left, then right, then straightened up again!

this just cos it was wet or something?

was scary!

yep first rwd car

just a wee shock because ive been driving all week no problem, even on motorway on relatively steep curves and no problems

is it only really when accelerating as opposed to general speed?

because i was at traffic lights and first in queue to turn left when they went green...just too quick while turning, yeah?

something it shares with the MX5,used to work at a repairers that covered the free insurance with MX5's years ago, every time it rained a handful would turn up lol

yer take a bit of getting used to lol , i came from an audi quattro
I had the old wedge shaped quattro on an A reg,it could lash down, nothing even phased it for a second lol great car, well high in my top 10 of cars i've owned list :)

dont think it wears out the clutch that much. but say ur on forth gear and then doing a shart left turn - if u shift it second and turn (and apply break) it will slow the car down. but with the clutch depressed and down shifted it will cut the gas but when u relese it it will still have the throttle and the car will be at higher rev so as soon as ur out and released it will give a faster turn. cant really explain. u can try and u'll see what i mean !!!
u can try this down shift and hold the clutch then realese the clutch as soon as ur out of corner.

It's getting to panic time again.

That's me that's starting to panic.

Getting near to 9 years of F & TF ownership and I've still failed to spin out on a public road. Looks like I need some lessons. I wish I'd read how bad the F was before I bought my first - at least I'd have been ready to wrap it around a post.

most of the rest of the post removed as it didn't add much.

i've had few wet day skids on my previous cars. first thing first u skid only for 20/30 to 40 secs. during that time think how u r feeling(i mean feel which way ur cars tail is going) and steer accordingly.

every time i had situation like this i did do this all in those 20/30 secs. that 30sec felt like forever thou. god few times sharp 90dec right turn on wet on the green light at 80k/h skided and did 360 and end up my car on the other lane going back where i came from ! lucky for me did do all the steering when i was nearly having a hert attack. made a perfect 380 and drove off fast(there was cars comming behind me !)

well i drive crefully these days! but learnet how to stay calm while having a skid. really helps. i think i have been blessed.

You need to take some of the lead out of your right boot my old fruit...

LESS LEAD, MORE HEAD!!

These things will bite yer arse if you put too much power on too early, we've all done it.

Good luck!
