The ABS warning light came on and the speedometer died!

Fuse, sensors, wiring problems or worse?

Anybody have the same problem?

Well as far as I know, the ABS sensor one of the front wheels controls the Speedo, so it’s a case of a new sensor. Not sure how much they cost, or your old one might just need drying out?

There will be other people here soon that will be able to help you more.

Sounds like a problem with the front (offside I think) ABS sensor, thats where the speedometer gets its input from. Check that the cable isn't rubbing on the tyre, has caused problems for some owners.

Possible ABS sensor harness chaffing on wheel issue. Soldering iron and some insulation tape and careful routing could solve this. Cost £0

Deffo offside front ABS sensor if speedo has died as well. I had a problem recently with my nearside front which had come adrift from its clips on the suspension strut. The cable wore away on the drive shaft.

New sensors reasonably cheap to buy but easy to fit.

I had heard that the car uses all four sensors (each wheel) so it could be any one of them, (assuming im right:err: )
