hi,

this is not on my rover its on my mondeo st24,

i came to change the plugs the other day when the engine was cold and they were soo tight i couldnt undo them! didnt want to snap one either!

how the hell should i get them out? they definately need changing!

it could work as the two metals will expand and cool at different rates.

i found undoing most bolts on exhausts/engines etc are easier soon after a run.

what have you got to loose? ;)

I doubt you can damage the thread undoing the plugs.As long as the plug spanner is seated right you wont snap the top either.

oh ok lol,

any way i sprayed some wd40 down there and ran the car upto temp and the plugs came free!!

I was going to say undo them hot. Use a decent socket with 1/2" drivers and you should be ok.

BUT, I have seen snapped off plugs before.....nasty.

my socket set is bang on, nice deep sockets all 1/2inch,

but i was still worried about snapping them as they were so bloody tight!
