go on Pete! please :)
Oh dear me. A long time ago in a land far, far away, a car company produced a lovely looking sports car called the MGTF. This car was produced in lots of magical colourful hues, Trophy Yellow, Trophy Blue, Brooklands Green, magic colours that changed as you walked around the car, and other brightand cheerful colours. Then the dark days arrived, and it seemed that every TF that left the production line was of no colour at all. These became known as the 'primer' colours, some were even called 'coal lorries' because of the link between black and coal. And so it was that Matt posted some pics of his TF in one of these 'primer' colours. Since those days, there has been friendly (most of the time) banter between the colour and the 'primer' boys has to who had the best taste. And so it came to pass that PeteVick tried very hard to make light of the pics posted by Matt by infering that the foreground (where the TF was parked) of the pic was in monochrome, but obviously it wasn't, the joke failed, and PeteVick was banished from the lands until 2.30pm.

NOW do you get it Matt ????

...just to clarify this bit... the MG name for a black TF was "anthracite" .. hence the obvious coal association

...the war rages on :itschy: yellow boy

XPG reminds me of dried out open cast mud, if you know what I mean!!
Had an uncle (no longer with us) who worked on open cast driving one of the very first large 'walking' diggers. Hadn't made the link to XPG before but now you mention it ...

The real black TFs remind me more of the bottom of Big Pit!!

I've never heard it likened to that, but very accurate. When I was looking for a TF I had my heart set on XPG, its a very 'rich' looking colour, then I saw this TY TF and my brain went into melt down, next thing I know I'm driving it home!!!! - really, its because I used to have a MKII RS2000 Escort in a similar colour, just couldn't resist, and it was about £1500 below others of the same year - maybe because of the colour - I'll say it first ;)

Matt, Ignore these losers... There is nothing wrong with your choice of car colour. Atleast you know that in 3 years time your selected colour will still be ok. I mean already TB and TY colours are out of date.

And even better you have matching coloured wheels. When was the last time you saw a TF with Yellow wheels ?

/me is admireing your choice of a fine vehicle.
