Time for the dreaded service! The cars just not feeling up to full steam and it's due. My local guy is charging £75 for Air and oil filters, oil change, coolant change grease the bushes and a general check over.

I also want him to do the plugs, dizzy cap & rotor and new fuel filter.

I've heard that I don't need to have the platinum plugs fitted? As I'm having the car serviced every year without fail shall I just go for normal plugs at a fifth the price? I'd rather have a fresh set every year and know they're in tip top condition. It's only a tenner after all.

On that note, has anyone tried the K&N panel filters? I know the cone filters are top drawer, but just wondered if anyones used them? I might treat myself!

If you are having the plugs changed every year then go for the cheaper plugs. Make sure that all the suspension grease points are done and having the brake fluid changed ever 2 years is advisable.
