Correction. Get an elephant to sit on it and drive down a bumpy road.
It will sink when the elephant sits on it and then when you drive over the bumps it will jack it self up again.
Seriously, I don't know a way of telling the difference from outside.
You could try the above method without an elephant but put a friend in the boot, measuring the clearance between the back bumper and the ground.
I have searched both the general and guru boards and found a few articles on this, with people asking the same question "How to identify the self leveling suspension". But sadly no body gave an answer bar take it to the dealer.
