Seen Power- Fold Mirrors - want them!

Hi Guys,

Yesterday I was parked up at the side of the road on my phone. A 03 plate R45 pulled up in front of me to park and what caught my eye, as the driver turned the engine off, was the fact the mirrors were folding!
A feature I never knew UK 45's had (although I vaguely remember export models having them)

I hung up on the person I was talking to and got out to talk to the driver. Its a little old lady who said that she'd had the car from new but her son had fitted the folding mirrors for her from his old 25 which he scrapped, it was definitely a 25 as she pointed to one over the road and said like that one, the one smaller than mine.

Has anyone done this, are any parts still available or do I have to trawl every scrappy in the land to find it - if so which bits do I need?

I've had my mirrors clipped so many times by ignorant pigs when parked up and this might just save them.

I'v always wanted a set of these ..... even better if they had repeaters in as well
Our ZS180 has Powerfold mirrors, these were fitted along with many other modifications by Nick Bonthrone of Austin Garages. They are as fitted to a Japanese Spec Rover 45 and the parts sourced from Xpart, although I think most parts are now NLA.

Annoying isn't it - but you could just fold them in manually!

I saw pictures of your car yesterday on the spanish site for MG/Rover because it was mentioned on the Argentina forum. Its international.

I can say I was impressed with all the optionals added to the car and all done with OEM parts. I have fitted the cruise control myself to my car and added the OEM switches (dash and steering wheel).

Congrats on your really nice looking ZS.

Cheers,

Nicolas
colour coded headlight wash - i was always told you couldnt paint em and thought you could
