Apart from the intercooler and electronic controlled fuel pump. is there any other differences??

Ive been offered a 1997 220 D turbo swap for my 216 cabby. I really need a diesel because of a new family member on the way but I was looking for the sdi model because it has better performance.

Thanks

Kevin

the sdi is without a doubt the better car. however the sd is easiy tuned by simply upping the fueling and boost. it wont be the same as n sdi but will be an imporvement and more driveable.

Thanks for the reply.

Thats what I was thinking. I think it would be better to start with a sdi than tune up a SD.

Tuning a SD is free but it requires some skill or patience at least to get it right.
An SDi has an intercooler so gives beter economy and ultimately more power. Some people have added an intercooler to SD models though.
Personally I'd go for the SDi but if money is tight an SD is acceptable.
