Hello, I'm looking for some advice on tidying up a scuff on my paintwork.

The irony of it: This morning I finally got my car sorted after 2 months of hassle following a minor incident in the snow (http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=175394) back in Feb. This afternoon, some clown uses their white car and lack of parking skills to deposit some paint where my rear wing meets the wheel arch. It's also ever so slightly bent, but hardly noticeable.

What's the best appoach to restore the paintwork? First, I suppose I must remove the white paint. Then it could require touching up of my trophy blue?

Is it worth getting done professinally. The perparator owned up and will pay to rectify, but it's a colleauge and I don't want a redicular bill.

I had the same thing happen to me. I called in the Scratch Repair Co, and since they can't get the paint for my car, the guy really took his time to remove all of the paint from my bumper from the other car, without inflicting any more scratching to mine.

For a perfect finish, I'd call in the pros. Cost me £30 and you can hardly see it now. I think thats reasonable for a good job.:broon:

Thanks Rich, I'll get a quote or two to get it done by a pro. A Google search tells me there are a couple of scratch and scuff specialists very near me, including one offereing a mobile service. Even if it's double what you paid, I still think that would be reasonable for the perpatrator to cough up. By the time I bought polish, paint, etc... the cost would be getting on for £30 anyway. And, I'd only make a pig's ear of it if I did it myself :)

clay and l;ube should remove any paint attatched, then scratchx to knock out the minor scratches if there are any, cost about £20 in total but you'll be able to clay your whole car and scratchx comes in useful!
