Hi,

My recent privately bought Rover 75, has a Becker 4720 traffic pro satnav unit.
The cd, radio works fine. However, the sat nav does not, it can't appear to pick up a signal.

I have pulled the system out to check wires, all seems ok.
The gps receiver is sitting on front dash, left hand side, near the tax disc.

When i pull out the wire from the GPS receiver, it does sense the wire is out, as then i get a no gps receiver error.

Anyone have any ideas....

There was a brief moment once or twice, when it appeared to have picked up a satellite.... but that moment was short lived. I've now given up, as have read the manual, pressed all the buttons... even reset the thing, and disconnected it and reconnected.

I did move the receiver about a little, nearer to the passenger side window... still no difference.

Regards,
Av

If he has a heated screen it will block the GPS signal. Put the antenna outside the window and allow 2+ minutes for the device to fix without disturbance.

if you have reset the unit, it can take up to half an hour for gps based equipment to get a fix. turn it on and leave it for half hour without movement. or try above. however if the 75 came with the sat nav, you would have thought it was working when it was installed.....
